We welcome all levels, whether you already swim thousands of yards daily or have not done a lap in years. This is great for those looking for a low-impact, coached group workout or athletes looking to train for triathlons. Our coaches will emphasize stroke mechanics, endurance, and for the competitive participant, speed and endurance training.
Students will need to be able to swim a minimum of 25yds of front and back crawl, while putting their face in the water to move into these advanced lessons. Student will learn breaststroke, sidestroke, and how to tread water for longer periods of time. Students will refine stroke technique of all major competitive strokes while building endurance. This advanced level is for students who are looking to use swim as a form of exercise, training, and learning to refine their swimming skills.
The basis of Y swim lessons is water safety skills. In our adult swim lesson program, students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills: confidence in and around the water, submerging in water, and floating. For some adults, this means learning to be comfortable in the water first. We work with all levels of adults to become comfortable in the water, and gradually help them learn the skills they need to be successful in the water. Every individual is different, and we meet each student where they are.
