Why should children take a cooking class?

YMCA cooking classes teach important skills in a fun and collaborative environment. More importantly, cooking teaches valuable life skills and students will learn math and language skills while developing comfort and confidence in preparing meals. Involving children in cooking and meal planning empowers them to make healthier choices that can last a lifetime.

Cooking Classes

Kids cooking classes help teach lifelong lessons like basic cooking principles and techniques but also help children to explore and discover new foods and understand the importance of proper nutrition and diverse diets.

The YMCA is a cause-driven charitable organization that provides financial assistance for programs. Ask us for details.
