Helen Gentile joined the trainer team at the Kennett Area YMCA in 2011 after retiring from a 27-year career as a solo podiatry practitioner. She now pursues her passion for fitness and helping others to maintain a healthy life. Helen welcomes all fitness levels and develops customized training programs to help them reach their goals.
Growing up in the city of Coatesville, Helen was active as a child because she walked everywhere – as many city residents do but her love of fitness didn’t begin until she was 17, through a fitness class in college [thank you to Mrs. Gulaska!]
Helen is a LIVESTRONG at the YMCA coach, which is a national program for cancer survivors, and is a cancer survivor herself. She shares a great deal of empathy for anyone who is enduring such a scary and life-altering diagnosis. Even after a serious illness, returning to exercise and movement is an extremely important component of healing and recovery.
She also coaches small group training classes for TRX. TRX straps are an awesome training tool to improve strength, balance, and core stability and I love seeing my clients master a particularly challenging move!
The journey of a million miles begins with a single step.....begin your journey to fitness today!
