Upper Main Line YMCA School of Dance
An all-inclusive program for boys and girls ages 2-18.
“Not every dancer will turn their love of the art form into a career, but every one of them will take the lessons they have learned in their training, choreography and performances to improve the quality of their life."
The Upper Main Line YMCA School of Dance is an all-inclusive dance program that welcomes dancers of all abilities from ages 2 - 18 with classes in ballet, modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, hip-hop, Broadway dance, and our new adaptive dance classes, taught by Dance Director, Claire Jones. All classes perform in a spring dance recital.
We instill a love of dance and the arts in all our dancers through our quality dance instruction, enthusiastic instructors and family-oriented environment, which focuses on the development of dance techniques as well as kindness and support to one another and the community.
Now open for registration, Fall Programs including Tumbling and "The Nutcracker and Holiday Dance Spectacular", where you can learn excerpts from the Holiday classic "The Nutcracker" as well as other Holiday classics. Rehearsals begin on Saturday, October 8, performance is the weekend of December 17 and will be held at a local theater.
The Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY) Junior and Senior Dance teams welcome dancers ages eight and older to learn more about our program. We understand that well-rounded children and young adults juggle many activities and commitments. Our dance programs foster the whole dancer in a supportive and caring environment that cares about the individual and the people they will become. We help our dancers enjoy the art of dance and the camaraderie of a team.
In addition to their many accomplishments outside of the studio, this past year, our UMLY Dance Company celebrated a first-place win in their division at Elevate Dance Competition and first and second places, as well as a special judges award for flawless technique, at the Ignite Dance Competition.
