Dance Company members participate in dance festivals, competitions and community outreach. Our company dancers have received first-place awards, special judges awards and scholarships to continue their dance studies.
Our recent dance graduates are currently studying dance in college and performing in college dance companies.
Upper Main Line YMCA Dance Company
The Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY) Junior and Senior Dance Companies welcome dancers ages eight and older to learn more about our program. We understand that well-rounded children and young adults juggle many activities and commitments. Our dance programs foster the whole dancer in a supportive and caring environment that cares about the individual and the people they will become. We help our dancers enjoy the art of dance and the camaraderie of a team.
In addition to their many accomplishments outside of the studio, this past year, our UMLY Dance Company celebrated a first-place win in their division at Elevate Dance Competition and first and second places, as well a special judges award for flawless technique, at the Ignite Dance Competition.
UMLY Senior Dance Company/Competitive Dance Company
For our most advanced dancers, the UMLY Senior Dance Company is by audition or invitation only. Members must be ages 12 or older and attend a ballet, modern and company class each week. Dancers will get to participate in two to three dance competitions per school year and represent the program at various outreach programs throughout the year. Upper Main Line YMCA Junior Dance Company/Competitive Dance Company
The UMLY Junior Dance Company is open to dancers ages eight and older who have studied dance for at least one year. Jr. company members must attend ballet and company class each week and modern dance is also recommended. Dancers will get to participate in one to two competitions per school year and may be asked to participate in outreach programs and events.
