The impact of a three-month government-mandated shutdown and ongoing pandemic have been devastating. Our revenue was reduced by 40% in 2020 and we had no choice but to lay off 60% of our talented staff team members to stay afloat. Member visits to the YMCA were down by 64% and many people placed their YMCA memberships on hold. Childcare and summer camp programming dropped by 38%.

Nonetheless, as these once unimaginable challenges became devastating realities, our YMCA team charged toward the front lines. We hosted blood drives to address a nationwide shortage, organized food drives to ensure no one went hungry, launched virtual group exercise classes so everyone could remain active, established virtual coffee hours for seniors, offered online family activities and more.
