New Health & Safety Guidelines

In light of COVID-19, our team has been preparing around the clock to welcome you back safely. We’ve made numerous modifications to our facilities, implemented new protocols and procedures, and retrained staff in the latest cleaning and disinfecting procedures. Learn more about these new procedures and protocols.

Below you will find new guidelines all need to follow, as well as detailed information on each area of our facility. Failure to comply is not an option. We need everyone to work together to ensure a socially responsible environment that aligns with our Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

  • COVID Prevention - All staff, members and visitors will review several health screening questions prior to entering the facility and will be temperature-screened. Anyone showing signs of COVID-19 or who has a temperature of 100.4 or higher, will not be permitted to enter for the safety of all members.

  • Masks - Masks or face shields will be required at all times in our facilities. This includes indoor group exercise classes, cardio and strength workouts and at all transitional spaces within the facility. Masks or face shields will not be required while in the pool swimming, showering or participating in outdoor activities where social distancing can be maintained.

Class sizes are being limited to allow for social distancing. Reservations via the YGBW mobile app are required. Your membership will need to be active to log in to the app and make reservations. You can reactivate your membership herePlease bring your own mat, as we are not able to safely provide them at this time. Remember that virtual group exercise classes will also continue.

  • Equipment - All must wipe down equipment before and after use using the disinfectant solution we provide. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Locker Rooms - Locker rooms are available for indoor pool lap swimmers only. If you are only working out and not doing lap swimming in our indoor pool, please come dressed to work out.

  • Member Code of Conduct - An updated Member Code of Conduct is in place to ensure we all work together to protect one another's health and safety.

  • Hand Sanitizing Stations – Additional stations are available throughout our branches.

  • Guest/Trial Passes - No guest or trial passes will be accepted at this time, nor can we allow anyone other than YMCA of Greater Brandywine members to enter our branches for the time being. Nationwide reciprocity has been suspended for now.
