Memorable Summer. Lasting Career.
Are you looking for a fun and rewarding summer job experience? Luckily, the YMCA is hiring counselors to staff our upcoming summer camp programs. If you are looking for a work environment that is fun, inclusive and growth-minded, then this is the job for you!
Best Decision Ever
Take it from the words of Brandon Hoff, who started working with the YMCA as a summer camp counselor in 2014 and now serves as the Director of Camp and Family Programs for the West Chester Area YMCA.
"You never know where life is going to take you. I stepped into camp my first day thinking this was just going to be a summer job and I would find something new next summer. I never knew the impact camp and the YMCA was going to have on my life."
Brandon shares that becoming a camp counselor was the best decision he ever made and that the friendships and skills he acquired as a camp counselor have centered his career.
"I learned a lot of skills I still use today. Camp provides you a unique opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. It gives you the skills and tools to be able to talk to different types of people, and it teaches you problem solving skills each day. These are all traits that you can take to any job whether it be within the YMCA or not."
