Spring has certainly sprung! At the Y, we welcome the chance to appreciate the beauty of nature. We have several events lined up to share our love of the outdoors. Join us in celebrating nature this month - on Earth Day - and all month long.

  1. Earth Day Festival - Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY)
You do not want to miss our Earth Day Festival on April 22, co-hosted by Senator Carolyn Comitta. This FREE event is open to the community and will feature family-friendly activities including recycled art, bird walks, canoeing, bird house building, tree-planting, stream studies, face painting, live music - and more.

In addition to celebrating Earth Day, we are also commemorating the 25th anniversary of environmental education at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) - which was first introduced on Earth Day in 1998 at the Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY). To celebrate, we'll be giving out 50 FREE STEM classes to attendees of the Earth Day Festival.

Don't miss this event - which has been sponsored by our friends at Shreiner Tree Care.

  2. Outdoor Survival - Eco Adventure Night - Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY)
On April 14, children ages 7-12 can explore the 20 acres of the Cassatt Preserve on the campus of the Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY). Learn how to pitch a tent and build a natural shelter, canoe or sit around the campfire. Children will be split into groups by age. Learn More
