In recognition of the value and importance of mental health and in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the program is available for free with the code MINDFULMAY.

Whether you’re looking for stress relief, a boost to your mental health or a respite during an otherwise busy day, Introduction to Mindfulness may be for you. This class will share key mindfulness practices designed to help participants cultivate greater self-awareness, reduce stress and live with greater ease. Instruction will be provided on basic breathing techniques, guided body scans and guided meditations.

The program will be led by Heather Bloodworth. Heather is a national trainer with more than 20 years of YMCA experience. She has a BA in psychology from the University of Wisconsin and trained at the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program at the University of Pennsylvania and at the University of California-San Diego.

Classes are virtual and will be held on Wednesdays from 1 PM - 2 PM beginning the week of May 1.
