Warm your Heart by Volunteering

Cheerful holiday volunteer dressed in a Santa hat

You can make a difference this season - whether you volunteer at an upcoming holiday event or spend time gift-wrapping donated toys to support our Holiday Angels giving tree program. With the holidays rapidly approaching, we recommend the following ways to warm your heart - and someone else’s heart, too.

  1. Be a Holiday Angel
You can make the holidays brighter for a local family by becoming a Holiday Angel. Each branch has a tree in the lobby filled with ornaments that list the needs of children in our community. Simply select an ornament, purchase 3-5 new gifts for your child, and return the gifts to your branch by December 17. You’ll earn your angel wings - and our gratitude!

  2. Lend a (Stage) Hand at the Holiday Nutcracker Dance Recital
Ever dreamed of working backstage? Now’s your chance! Our Holiday Nutcracker performance is on December 18 at Rosemont College - and we need volunteers to help bring this production to life. Front of house shifts are available if the stage is not your style. Check out our volunteer roles.

  3. Wrap Up the Holiday Spirit
If you are gifted with gift-wrapping talents, we need your help! We have brand new, donated gifts from our Holiday Angels program that need to be wrapped up in holiday spirit – and wrapping paper. Sign up to wrap gifts on December 19 at the Lionville Community YMCA.

  4. Spread Holiday Cheer around Chester County
Between December 9 and 31, each of our branches is hosting a festive holiday event. We need your help to spread holiday cheer. Sign up today.

  5. Sneak Peek: Join Our Boards and Committees
New year, new opportunity! Starting in January, we adopt new members onto our advisory boards and leadership committees. You’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback and guidance to the Executive Director and leadership team at your local branch. Learn more about this exciting way to contribute your talents to your local Y.

No matter how you volunteer, you will make an impact on a local family.
