Adults of Any Age
While obligations at home or in the office can feel overwhelming, we are here to remind you that you are more than a partner, parent, grandparent or whatever you do for a living. Take time to refocus on Y-O-U and the things that you love to do. Our list of hidden gems will help you stay connected, maximize Me Time or try something new.

  1. Mindfulness for Wellbeing
Most of us want to be more mindful – and now is your chance to make good on that intention. Our weekly mindfulness sessions are perfect for beginners as we will focus on basic breathing techniques, body scans and guided meditations. And, to make it easy to join us, we are offering these sessions virtually. Get ready to live with greater ease.

  2. Pickleball Clinics
You’ve heard about pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the nation. But have you tried to play yet? The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is your local hub for all things pickleball – and we offer clinics for all levels of play. Try this fun and popular sport today.

  3. Adult Pottery
Whether throwing on the wheel or building a creation by hand, working with clay is soothing, relaxing and just plain fun. Discover your creative side in one of our adult pottery classes offered at Lionville or Kennett.

  4. Drawing or Painting for Beginners
Don’t let clay have all of the fun – try your hand at drawing or painting. Focusing your energy on your canvas will allow your brain to slow down and unwind. De-stress while learning something new and creating something beautiful.

  5. Adult Swim Lessons
It is never too late to learn how to swim or to perfect your form. Our adult swim lessons will teach you a new skill while helping you to de-stress and move your body. There are so many benefits of swimming. See for yourself!

Families
School, work, activities, meals and screens. When can you fit in quality time as a family? Let us help you get back to basics and focus on good old-fashioned family fun.

  1. Family Whole Health Challenge
Get ready to have fun while focusing on movement and nutrition in this one-of-a-kind program brought to you by West Chester University and the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. In the Family Whole Health Challenge, you will explore the many factors of health with trained experts and educators – and earn a $50 Giant gift card for completing six of eight challenges.

  2. Family Nature Hike
Is there a better way to connect with family than being in nature? Join us on the grounds of the historic Cassatt preserve as we host you and your faves on a family nature hike. Disconnect from life and reconnect with each other.

  3. Family-Friendly Classes
Modeling good habits is one of the most powerful parenting tools in the toolbox. Why not meet your movement goals together as a family? For our youngest families, we have parent/child program offerings to help you build your child’s healthy habits from day one. For children eight and older, try one of our family-friendly group exercise classes.

Kids
Whether learning how to crawl or learning how to drive, our kids are building independence every day of their lives. At the Y, we are committed to providing a safe environment where they can build their confidence – and you won’t have to worry about them. Check out our picks for activities that will send your kiddo soaring.

  1. Art
The canvas is the perfect place for children to grow their independence. Kids will flex their creative muscles, learn new skills and learn how to make mistakes – all while having fun. We have art offerings for children of various ages - from preschool/school age to slightly older school age and getting into their tweens and teens.

  2. Theater
Our theater programs provide a mixture of creativity and independence. Your child will learn and grow alongside a family of fellow performers. And you’ll enjoy seeing their pride at their final performance.

  3. Archery
You probably won’t turn your child loose in the living room with a bow and arrow – so let us teach them the fine art of archery. We’ve got the equipment, the space and the qualified instructors to teach your child a new skill in a very fun way.
