Meet Aubrey Carey

Aubrey Carey serves as the Director of Theatrical & Creative Arts at the Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn. In this role, Aubrey leads Theatrical Arts programs such as acting classes and musical theater classes, productions and camps – as well as Creative Arts programming such as fine arts classes and camps.

But, Theatrical & Creative Arts are more than a career for Aubrey, they are a passion.
 

“I love teaching Intro to Acting because I get the opportunity to introduce students to various aspects of Performing Arts,“ shares Aubrey. “From musical theater to improv to scene work and playwriting, it is a joy to help children discover their creative side.”


In her spare time, Aubrey enjoys filmmaking. She has written and directed several short films that have premiered at film festivals in Philadelphia. She was also involved in leading a number of theatrical and film productions at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Atlanta.

Prior to joining the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, Aubrey worked with local Performing Arts Centers, including Wolf Performing Arts Center, Allens Lane Art Center, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and People's Light. Aubrey earned a degree in Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art & Design.
