Trained staff engage kids with everything from homework help to games and art projects. In addition, full-day care is matched to most school days off. 

Our programs are either offered onsite at the schools in the districts we serve or at our YMCA facilities, allowing for greater flexibility in scheduling and programming.

Information for School Districts

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine strives to enrich each child’s school experience, support our school districts and give our parents peace of mind. Our trained staff engages children with exercise, learning activities and homework assistance while incorporating the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

The YMCA handles all aspects of program administration and provides parents with affordable, flexible options.  Additionally, full day care is matched to most school days off. 

Our programs are either offered onsite at the schools in the districts we serve or at our YMCA facilities, allowing for greater flexibility in scheduling and programming. Nut-free snacks are provided at each location.

CURRENT PROGRAMS:

Avon Grove School District

Through the Jennersville YMCA, before and after school care is available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade at the following schools:

  • Avon Grove Intermediate School
  • Penn London Elementary School

 

Great Valley School District

Through the Upper Main Line YMCA, before and after school care is available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade at the following schools:

  • Charlestown Elementary School 
  • General Wayne Elementary School 
  • K. D. Markley Elementary School 
  • Sugartown Elementary School 
  • 5th/6th Grade Center

Kennett School District

Through the Kennett Area YMCA, before and after school care is available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade at the following schools:

  • Bancroft Elementary School 
  • Greenwood Elementary School 
  • New Garden Elementary School 

 

Octorara School District

At the Octorara YMCA Program Center, before and after school care is available for children in kindergarten through sixth grade from the following schools. Bus transportation is provided to the Octorara YMCA Program Center from each school.

Oxford Area School District

Through the Jennersville YMCA, before and after school care is available for children in kindergarten through sixth grade at the following schools:

  • Elk Ridge School (Children bused to/from Nottingham Elementary School for AM and PM programming)
     
  • Hopewell School (Children bused to/from Nottingham Elementary School for AM and PM programming)
     
  • Jordan Bank Elementary School (Children bused to/from Nottingham Elementary School for AM and PM programming)
     
  • Nottingham Elementary School

 

Unionville-Chadds Ford School District

Through the Kennett Area YMCA, before and after school care is available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade at the following schools:

  • Chadds Ford Elementary School 
     
  • Hillendale Elementary School 
     
  • Pocopson Elementary School 
     
  • Unionville Elementary School 

 

West Chester School District

At the Oscar Lasko YMCA and Childcare Center in downtown West Chester, After-School academy is available for children in kindergarten through eighth grade from the following schools. Bus transportation is provided to the Oscar Lasko YMCA from most school locations.
