Meet Our 2023 Frequent Y'ers

John Squeri
 | Lionville Community YMCA

For John, the Y isn't just a gym—it's a welcomed escape from the daily grind, offering a space where he can focus on his well-being alongside others who share the same dedication.

"I enjoy coming to the Y because it is an escape from my daily work routine with others that are focused on their health. Staying fit and eating right has proven to be the best method to prevent illness."

John is motivated to maintain a healthy lifestyle because he realizes that fitness and proper nutrition are essential for illness prevention. He also understands the importance of balance, recognizing that occasional indulgence in less healthy foods is part of a holistic approach to wellness.

We're honored to have such a well-rounded individual as part of our Y family, inspiring us all to prioritize self-care and enjoy the journey to better health

Bernard Rudegeair | Upper Main Line YMCA

As a former hospital administrator, Bernard understands the importance of individual responsibility in maintaining good health. Bernard’s proactive approach to fitness not only benefits him and his wife but also sets an inspiring example for others.

“I enjoy coming to the Y because I enjoy that there is room for me and my wife, both in the workout space and the parking lot. Our previous workout center was too crowded. We come early and it works for us."

We're grateful to have Bernard as part of our Y family, embodying the spirit of commitment and wellness every step of the way. Becoming a Frequent Y'er is all about embracing the excitement of consistent progress.

Kathy Gillan | Upper Main Line YMCA

With retirement marking a new chapter in life, Kathy has embraced visits to the Y not just for exercise - but as a vital part of her daily routine. Kathy enjoys coming to the Y for exercise and socialization.

“Now that I’m retired, it’s my job. I approach health and wellness as I once did my job. I owe good health to myself and to my family."

Kathy’s commitment to health and wellness is truly inspiring, reminding us all of the importance of prioritizing self-care and maintaining an active lifestyle, not just for ourselves but for the ones we love.

About Frequent Y'ers

They are distinguished by their high visit counts and by their unwavering dedication to strengthening themselves and their community. Their consistent presence at the YMCA reflects their commitment to health, wellness and social responsibility.

Frequent Y'ers serve as role models, inspiring others to adopt healthy habits and contribute positively to the collective wellbeing. 2024 Frequent Y'ers

YGBW Members who visit 115 times between January 1 and June 30 qualify as 2024 Mid-Year Frequent Y'es. At the end of 2024, the top 50 members in visit counts for the entire year at each branch will be recognized again.
