Wellness Director
Valeria Tenreiro serves as the Executive Director of the Oscar Lasko YMCA branch of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. In this role, she provides strategic leadership focused on strengthening community impact, operational excellence, and staff and member engagement. Valeria brings more than 17 years of experience within the YMCA movement, having built her career across YMCAs in New York, New Jersey, and California.
She began her YMCA journey in health and wellness leadership roles and advanced into senior executive positions, where she led membership growth initiatives, community health programs, and cross-functional teams. Throughout her career, she has partnered with Y-USA and national organizations on initiatives supporting youth development, chronic disease prevention, mental health, and cancer survivorship. “I am deeply inspired by the Y’s commitment to strengthening communities and creating welcoming spaces where everyone belongs,” Valeria shared. “Being able to support individuals and families in their growth, health, and well-being is what drives my work every day.” Outside of the Y, Valeria values meaningful connections, lifelong learning, and community collaboration.
She is fluent in English and Spanish and is a strong advocate for cultural diversity, inclusion, and partnership.
East Chestnut Fitness Coach
Amanda Craig trains clients individually and in small groups in body weight, dumbbell, kettlebell and barbell exercises and is a trainer at East Chestnut Fitness. She uses a client-centered approach that focuses on the mental, physical and emotional aspects to create and promote healthy habits and routines while preventing disability. She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, emphasizing functional mobility and strength as well as injury prevention and education.

Justen is a physical education teacher during the day and a personal trainer in the evening. He joined the Oscar Lasko YMCA & Childcare Center team in 2019 after moving to the West Chester area. Justen specializes in 1-1 and small group training, Strength & Conditioning, CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting. HIIT, Tabata and Metcon.

Evan Snyder PT, DPT is a physical therapist specializing in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation. Evan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2015 from the University of Delaware and has been helping people live active lives ever since. This led him to East Chestnut Fitness where he now helps to coach their small group training classes, along with group mobility classes and 1-on-1 personal training. Evan’s philosophy is to look at the whole individual, whether in rehab or training, to promote full body mobility and strength with an emphasis on corrective exercise when needed to prevent injury and improve performance.

Alex is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer as well as a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach. He holds a B.S. in Biology and specializes in strength training, athletic improvement, and hypertrophy training.
Alex began lifting and exercising at 10 years old. He was driven to the personal training world after working in 911 for a few years. Responding to medical emergencies drove him to use his knowledge to improve other's health in order to prevent them from having to make those calls.
Personal Training Philosophy: Sustainable is always better than perfect. Being perfect means nothing if it only lasts a week. Sustainability lasts a lifetime.

Jodi is a certified personal trainer and nutritionist whose own fitness and health journey inspired her to pursue a career helping others.
After transforming her lifestyle and experiencing firsthand the physical and mental benefits of consistent movement and balanced nutrition, she became passionate about guiding others toward their goals. As a small group instructor at the YMCA, Jodi leads high-energy, functional fitness classes designed to challenge and support members of all levels. She believes in making fitness approachable, empowering, and rooted in community.
