The YMCA of Greater Brandywine Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer
Earlier this month, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine welcomed Rich Przywara as their new Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Przywara was the Senior Vice President for Operations at Ashley Addiction Treatment in Maryland prior to joining the Y, but he is a familiar face in the Chester County area. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the West Chester University Foundation and Student Housing, a position he held for more than 10 years. In this role, he excelled in both fundraising for the University and the operations of four student housing units (3,000 beds) of which he secured the funding, oversaw the construction and then led the operations and maintenance.
Mr. Przywara also spent time as the General Manager of the Department of Special Services for New Castle, Delaware, during which time he also served as the first Chief of Staff to County Executive Chris Coons, now a U.S. Senator.
In his extensive career, Mr. Przywara has nine years of YMCA experience with the YMCA of Central Maryland as the Executive Director of the Harford County and White Marsh YMCAs and he also served the YMCA of Delaware as Director of Financial Development after a successful start as the Director of Youth Development.
“I am excited to be back with the Y and joining the YMCA of Greater Brandywine team,” says Mr. Przywara. “This is such a vibrant area, I’m looking forward to immersing myself in the Y’s mission and helping to strengthen the foundations and relationships in this community.”
“We are thrilled to have Rich join our YMCA family,” says Denise Day, President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. “Rich has a strong operations and executive background, experience with the YMCA mission and a passion for helping others. We couldn’t be happier that he has joined our team!”
Rich is married to Maribeth, the Development and Membership Director at the Delaware Nature Society. They have two children, Chris (17) and Cami (10).
