Theater programs can help to build confidence, explore different personas and is a place of new discoveries and lifelong learning. The Upper Main Line YMCA Theater program offers weekly classes in musical theater and playwriting. Staged productions return this year with opportunities for children in Pre K through 12th grade as well as adults of all ages. UMLY Theater is a home for all!

Addams Family the Musical

Life is unpredictable in the Addams family - especially as Wednesday Addams secretly falls in love. When she invites her boyfriend and his parents to dinner, will secrets be kept? And, can the family cope with all that's changing?

Auditions will be held January 10 and 11. 

 

Playhouse Jr. | Snow White & The Seven Dwarves

Playhouse Jr. at UMLY Performing Arts is geared for actors in grades 2-5 who are interested in the world of musical theater. Playhouse Jr. will focus on choreography, singing and acting. Theater class participants must hold a YMCAGBW Membership for registration and while the programs are in session.

 

Storybook Theater

This class is geared towards actors in grades K through 1. Actors will learn singing, dancing and acting. The class concludes with a showcase for family. Theater class participants must hold a YMCAGBW Membership for registration and while the programs are in session. Learn more.

Janelle is a graduate of Point Park University where she earned a BFA in Performing Arts with a concentration in Musical Theater. She performed professionally in theaters in Pittsburgh and Chicago before joining the director team at the UMLY ten years ago. She is currently the Senior Director of Youth Programs, including Camp UMLY!
