Edgar to Serve as Chief Branch Operating Officer

(West Chester, PA) – The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) is thrilled to announce the promotion of Terri Edgar to Chief Branch Operating Officer. In this expanded role, Edgar will oversee the successful management of branch operations, including key programs such as Childcare and Early Learning, Before and After School Enrichment, Summer Camp and Youth Programs. She will focus on creating safe, vibrant and well-maintained spaces for the community while developing operational plans to support the organization’s strategic goals.

Most recently, Edgar served as the organization’s Senior Vice President of Branch Operations. She has more than 30 years of experience serving the community at YMCA Associations in the region, with the past 13 years at YGBW. Edgar’s first job was as a lifeguard at a Y in Delaware. Throughout her tenure, Edgar has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to serving the community and ensuring access for all people.

YGBW operates nine branches and program centers across Chester County, serving more than 87,000 local residents. The organization’s programs and services meet a diverse array of interests and needs, including those you may expect such as Childcare, After School Enrichment, Summer Camp, Swim Lessons, Gymnastics, Basketball and Pickleball.

The branches of YGBW offer many unique programs that you might be surprised to find at your local Y – Theater, Dance, Environmental Education, STEM, Esports and Gaming, Pottery and NFL Flag. YGBW also provides programs that focus on Social Responsibility, including Food & Resource Pantries at three locations and robust ForeverWell programming for seniors.

“Terri is a strong champion of our mission to strengthen communities,” shares President & CEO, Bertram L. Lawson II. “In this expanded leadership role, she will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders to execute our strategic vision. Chester County is a diverse and growing region and Terri’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that YGBW’s programs and services reflect our community's evolving needs.”

Branch Executive Directors and District Executive Directors
To further support the communities served by YGBW, the organization has made recent changes to branch leadership roles, adding two District Executive Directors of Operations, Nic Legere and Dave Mullin. The organization also recently welcomed Freddy Christmas as the Executive Director of the Coatesville branch, Megan Florentin as the Executive Director of the Lionville branch, Devin Manion as the Executive Director of the Kennett branch and Tim Grayson as the Associate Executive Director of the Jennersville branch.

Christmas, Florentin, Manion and Grayson bring extensive experience from YMCA associations along the east coast, including associations located throughout Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland.

“We’re excited to have Freddy and Megan join the YGBW team,” said Mullin. “They both share a deep passion for serving the community and helping members find a place to connect, grow, and thrive. The timing could not be better as their dedication and innovation will serve our communities well as our organization continues to evolve.”

“It is such a pleasure to serve alongside Devin and Tim,” shared Legere. “They are very in tune with the needs of the communities in southern Chester County – and are driven to make an impact. Their leadership and dedication make a difference in the lives of our members and guests each day.”
