West Chester, PA - As the weather turns cooler and we grapple with the physical and mental challenges of the Pandemic, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) invites members of the community to focus on their health through a free wellness challenge which launches on October 18. The challenge encourages participants to commit to 150 minutes a week of movement for 30 days.

Throughout the four-week challenge, the YMCA will provide a wide variety of resources to help individuals of all abilities develop healthier habits or find new ways to challenge themselves. Resources include weekly workout routines, recipes, nutrition advice, workout playlists, virtual classes, a meditation series and more! Most importantly, it helps to connect residents across our region in a united effort to reach their goals.

"This challenge provides an opportunity for our community to recommit to their wellness goals. We encourage families, friends and neighbors to join the challenge together and leverage the YMCA’s resources to help them reach their fitness goals,” says Brian Kish, Association Director of Healthy Living.

You do not need to be a YMCA member to participate in the challenge or use the many resources available through the challenge. A free trial membership is also available to members of the community who would like to explore their local YMCA and its offerings.

“We know that the Pandemic has challenged all of us in so many ways. It is incredibly important that we find ways to support our overall health. This challenge is a great opportunity to begin a new routine as we all work to live healthier lives,” says Heather Bloodworth, Vice President of Membership and Wellness. “We continue to explore new ways to support our community through virtual offerings, personal and small group training, outdoor classes and more.”
