Employee Feedback Earns Organization This Honor for Second Consecutive Year

(West Chester, PA) – Once again, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) has been named a Top Workplace by The Philadelphia Inquirer. This honor is reflective of YGBW employee feedback – notably that staff feel respected, supported and enabled to grow.

“Congratulations and thank you to our amazing team for making the YMCA of Greater Brandywine a Top Workplace for a second year in a row,” says Natalia Gallon-Garcia, Chief Human Resources Officer for YGBW. “We are honored to receive this recognition and it wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and passion from our incredible team.”

YGBW employs more than 1,500 individuals annually, including many seeking part-time, seasonal and flexible opportunities. The organization contributes more than $29MM to the Chester County economy, making YGBW an influential employer in the region. Currently, YGBW is looking to hire Summer Camp Counselors, Lifeguards and Teachers.

“At the Y, we don’t come to work, we come to serve a higher purpose,” comments President and CEO, Bertram L. Lawson II. “Our team, though diverse in professions, is united by a shared vision – to create a lasting, positive impact in our community. Join us as a YGBW team member in making a difference today.”

About Top Workplaces 2025
Each year, the Inquirer partners with Energage, a third-party employee engagement partner, to collect anonymous and confidential feedback from employers throughout the Philadelphia region. Being named a Top Workplace means that employees of YGBW ranked the organization highly across a number of categories – and did so for two consecutive years, 2025 and 2024.

Earning the Top Workplaces designation reflects the organization’s strategic focus on being an employer of choice in Chester County. YGBW has an intentional focus on collecting employee feedback and continuing to enhance employee benefits.

Robust Employee Benefits
YGBW offers a robust employee benefits package designed to support staff wellbeing in all aspects of life. The benefits program features two comprehensive medical plan options, including a standout plan where medical services are covered at 100% - effectively eliminating financial barriers to healthcare.

Beyond healthcare, the organization demonstrates its commitment to staff through retirement contributions, generous paid time off that increases with tenure, family-friendly program discounts, tuition reimbursement, tuition discounts and childcare assistance. Additional offerings include mental health resources, nutrition counseling and voluntary supplemental insurance options. This comprehensive approach to employee support aligns with the YMCA's mission of strengthening individuals and communities while ensuring staff can access quality healthcare without the burden of out-of-pocket expenses.

“If you are looking for a fulfilling career, consider YGBW,” continues Gallon-Garcia. “Here, you will find more than just a job, you’ll find your purpose.”
