2021 Annual Report: Reigniting Our Community
When drafting our letter for this report, we took a minute to look back at the last two years. It has been one of the most difficult periods in our organization’s history. We experienced shutdowns, isolation, unemployment, unrest, a nationwide hiring crisis and so much more.
Now, as we continue our journey through the pandemic and begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we look forward to what comes next.
Overall, the story of 2021 is a good one. We experienced increasing program enrollments, a rapidly growing pickleball community, strengthened connections in our group exercise and group fitness offerings, and booming camp enrollments. Our mission moments and testimonials tell similar stories of connections and impact.
While we often talk about our unique community at the YMCA, the numbers and stories from 2021 bring a renewed emphasis to the importance of community and connections. This is greater emphasized after nearly two years of isolation and distancing.
We envision a future in which all people have access to programming and opportunities to achieve health, gain confidence, make connections and feel secure at every stage of life and can do so with dignity. While we still have a long way to go to be the organization we were in 2019, we are empowered by these stories on our journey to build back better.
We sincerely thank you for your support and hope that you will continue with us on this journey. Our community would not be the same without each of you.
