Melanie began her career with the YMCA in 1993. She worked in various roles throughout the Y over the course of 16 years. She is deeply committed to improving the quality of life for residents throughout Chester County and after leaving the Y has spent two decades working with nonprofits across the region in staff, volunteer and collaborative roles. Her work most notably has been in the areas of poverty alleviation, food insecurity and homeless prevention programs as well as collective impact initiatives.
Melanie received a bachelors at Springfield College (a.k.a. the YMCA college), and has provided leadership in many areas of the Y including: membership, summer camp, child care, aquatics and more. She is a national trainer and former consultant for Bridges Out of Poverty and has received multiple community partner awards from Chester County Department of Community Development's Decade to Doorways initiative.
She returned to the Y with a vision to connect the community to the Jennersville YMCA resources that build personal wellness and long-term community resiliency. You can find Melanie around the branch connecting with members and building partnerships and collaborations throughout the community.
Melanie has resided in West Grove for 23 years, where she and her husband raised their two children. When not working in the community, she enjoys camping, hiking and fostering Boston Terriers.
