Use It or Lose It

Your brain and your muscles have something in common - you must exercise them regularly to avoid loss of skills. In other words, use it or lose it!

Utilization and repetition are important no matter your age. Yet as you get older, it becomes more critical to use the skills that you want to retain.

At the Y, we encourage you to stay active and offer a variety of ways to do so. All activities can be tailored to your ability, giving you plenty of chances to exercise your body and your mind.


A Matter of Balance
A Matter of Balance is an eight-week course that is designed to reduce fear of falling while increasing balance. New sessions kick off regularly, so check our upcoming dates.
 

Creative & Performing Arts
We offer dance, pottery and culinary arts classes for adults. And, our ForeverWell team offers the chance to flex your creative muscles in our Create Art program.
 

Pickleball
Featuring a court that is shallower than tennis, pickleball offers a fun way to maintain your skills. We offer many ways for you hit the courts - clinics, lessons, open play and more. Learn about pickleball at YGBW.


Reading
Maintain your love of reading by joining one of our monthly book clubs. Book clubs are hosted by our ForeverWell team at most of our branches - and a new title is selected each month. LEARN MORE


Swimming
We are passionate about water safety and the therapeutic benefits of being in the water. We offer swim lessons for groups, small goups or privately. We also offer a variety of aqua fitness classes and open swim time.


No matter what you love doing, we encourage you to keep at it!
