At the YMCA, our greatest priority has always been protecting the health and safety of all who enter our doors.

While we don’t yet know when we will be permitted to reopen by the State of Pennsylvania, we’re getting ready to welcome you back as soon as possible!

As soon as you arrive at the Y, you’ll notice changes—all designed to protect your health and well-being.

    Enhanced Cleaning & Disinfecting

We are implementing the latest cleaning protocols from the CDC using our EPA-registered solution. Areas of our facilities will have rolling, brief closures throughout the day and branch hours will be reduced to allow for additional disinfection. We’ve adjusted our air handling units to ensure an even higher turnover of fresh air into our branches.

    Retraining Staff

Our staff is being retrained on the latest cleaning and disinfection protocols provided by the CDC and will be focused on continual sanitization of all areas of our facility. Additionally, each branch will have a Health & Security Associate who will oversee and enforce all safety and security protocols, including requiring members to wipe down fitness equipment before and after use.

    Social Distancing

We've reconfigured spaces to allow for social distancing and added clear directional signage throughout our branches to direct the flow of traffic. You'll find fitness equipment spaced out, lobbies free of excess furniture and markers on the floor to make social distancing easy.

    Amenity Availability

To protect your health and safety, we will likely not be able to reopen all amenities immediately and we ask for your patience. This could include but is not limited to saunas, steam rooms, pools, locker rooms and more. As soon as we are confident we can open these areas safely, we will.
