Student Learning Center | 2020-2021 Octorara YMCA

Due to COVID-19, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine is offering a learning center program during the 2020-2021 academic school year. This five-day program (Monday-Friday) provides care for students in kindergarten through sixth grade from 7:30-3:30 with an additional aftercare option until 6 pm. Students will be in small groups of 12 and supervised by a YGBW staff member. Additionally, a degreed teacher will be available for every two groups of students, ensuring a staff-to-student ratio of 1:8. Stable groups will be employed and YGBW has implemented the health and safety recommendations provided by the CDC, Department of Human Services, Chester County Health Department, American Academy of Pediatricians and the Pennsylvania Board of Health. The program includes wifi access, as well as academic support, physical fitness activities and social enrichment. Students are to provide their own device to complete their virtual learning, and parents are asked to ensure their son or daughter knows how to log in to their virtual learning.
